On 23 November, National Native Forest Day was celebrated to promote and preserve species that are part of a given region’s natural heritage and adapted to a specific climatic context.
To mark this occasion, the LIFE BEETLES project challenged the entire Flores Environment and Climate Action Service team to join forces and plant native species at Lagoa Rasa.
This site, which has been the target of nature conservation actions such as the removal of invasive species, now has 50 more endemic plants, such as Azorean Laurel (๐๐ข๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ด ๐ข๐ป๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ข), Azorean Heather (๐๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ข ๐ข๐ป๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ข) and Short Leafed Juniper (๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ถ๐ด ๐ฃ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ท๐ช๐ง๐ฐ๐ญ๐ช๐ข).
Our thanks to all the participants!
