The LIFE BEETLES project was at the Family Festival on the island of São Jorge, organising the environmental awareness activity “Insects under the magnifying glass”.
Throughout the day, several families passed by the São Jorge Nature Park stall to examine beetles, spiders, wasps, and other arthropods with a magnifying glass.
The “Insects under the magnifying glass” activity, part of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action’s educational programme, aims to explore the anatomy of arthropods, show their importance in ecosystems and highlight the endemic species on the islands of Terceira, Pico and Flores.
