The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change promotes knowledge exchange through its projects and availability to new opportunities, with the participation in several programmes, such as the Erasmus programme.
The LIFE BEETLES project hosted an intern of this programme in its team on Flores island. Keily Tammaru came from Estonia and is a Biosemiotics student. On Flores, she had the chance to develop and apply her skills, which were extremely relevant for the development and continuation of this project’s goals.
During the internship, there was a great sharing of knowledge and information, among them the different methodologies for public approaches regarding the target species of the project and the consequent change of perception concerning insects in general, and beetles in particular.
