On the 15th and 20th of April 2021, the LIFE BEETLES project continued the training actions for Environmental Education Technicians from the project’s partner company, Azorina S.A..
The two sessions took place online, via Teams platform, counting on 17 participants from various islands in the Azores.
During the workshop, several curiosities and pedagogical resources about the arthropods’ world were presented, as well as awareness raising techniques that can be used in the course of environmental education activities.
The workshop’s goal was to broaden the interest and willingness of technicians in the process of demystifying negative concepts associated with these animals. In this way, this event emerges as a mean to make technicians more apt when carrying out activities in the scope of LIFE BEETLES project with schools and the general public.
In addition to the use of quiz tools from the platform itself during the presentations, participants were also challenged to complete a live group work, where they had to defend a specific arthropod, assigned to them.
The overall feedback indicates that the training sessions were successful and the comments from the participants were very positive.
Here is a record of a small moment of the final challenge: a debate between two groups of arthropods, the Fly and the Beetle!
Thank you to all the participants.
