On 23 November, National Native Forest Day was celebrated to promote and preserve species that are part of a given region’s natural heritage and adapted to a specific climatic context.
To mark this occasion, the LIFE BEETLES project challenged the entire Flores Environment and Climate Action Service team to join forces and plant native species at Lagoa Rasa.
This site, which has been the target of nature conservation actions such as the removal of invasive species, now has 50 more endemic plants, such as Azorean Laurel (๐˜“๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ข๐˜ป๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข), Azorean Heather (๐˜Œ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข ๐˜ข๐˜ป๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข) and Short Leafed Juniper (๐˜‘๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ฃ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ข).
Our thanks to all the participants!
